Comfort Naana Owusu, affectionately known as Misfere, passed away at the age of 72 on 26th July 2026 at Nar Bita Hospital in Tema, Ghana. Her family, including five generations, expressed their deep sorrow at the loss of their beloved matriarch. The funeral arrangements were overseen by the Ebenezer Methodist Church in Ekumfi Adansi.
The burial service was held on Saturday, 29th August 2026 at St. Paul Methodist Cathedral in Tema, Community 1 at 7:00 am. The interment took place privately after the burial. The final funeral rites were observed on the same day at St. Paul Methodist Cathedral, Community 1 at 10:00 am.
A Thanksgiving Service was held on Sunday, 30th August 2026 at the same location at 7:30 am. The family included many relatives, such as grandchildren Francess-Marie Sarsah, Ivan Awutey, Esperanza-Marie Sarsah, and Desiree-Marie Sarsah, as well as nephews and nieces like Anita Dadzie, Michael Dadzie, and others.
The family gathered to mourn and celebrate the life of their cherished leader. Chief mourners included Egona Ebusuapayin Samuel Eyiah, Ebusuapayin Uncle Kojo Nyarko-Uncle ‘O’ from Saltpond, Obaapayin Aba Yaa Otwiwa from Tema, Obaapayin Mary Affanyi from the USA, Obaapayin Mercy Ocran from Accra, Opanyin Kwesi Baah, Opanyin Samuel Sackey, and all of Ekumfi Adansimaim. The family wore black on Saturday and black and white attire on Sunday in honor of the departed.
