Claude can now send emails in Gmail, even without your approval

Anthropic's Claude AI has introduced a significant capability to your email inbox - the ability to send emails on your behalf without prior approval. This feature, powered by a Claude connector in Google Workspace, extends Claude's management of Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive. The addition of email sending capability comes after the AI could previously only reply to emails but not actually send them.

While you still need to prompt Claude to take this action, it can draft and send the response autonomously. The default setting requires your approval before Claude sends an email, but Team and Enterprise users can decide whether members can allow Claude to perform these actions without individual approval. This functionality, however, is limited to paid Claude plans.
