Britain Hits Back at Russian Threats Over Ukraine’s Use of British Drones

Britain has responded to Russian threats regarding Ukraine's use of British-made drones in strikes inside Russia, reaffirming its commitment to providing the nation with necessary equipment to defend itself against Putin's illegal invasion. A spokesperson from the UK Ministry of Defence stated that Britain stands in solidarity with Ukraine and is determined to provide the support required to counter Russian aggression, both in Ukraine and for the UK and its allies.

The response arose after Russia's embassy in London warned Britain of facing consequences following reports that British-made drones had been utilized by Ukrainian forces in deep-strike operations against targets within Russia over the past six months. The embassy emphasized that Britain's increasing support for Kyiv would result in higher costs for the country.

According to the Sunday Times, British companies have supplied drones specifically designed for deep-strike operations to Ukrainian forces. These systems include the jet-powered Nyan drone, produced by Callen-Lenz, a division of BAE Systems. As Ukraine has become increasingly reliant on these long-range drones to target military, energy, and logistics infrastructure supporting Russia's invasion, Moscow has been compelled to defend its targets, which are often located hundreds of kilometers away from the front line.

Despite the escalating tensions, Britain has remained resolute in its support for Ukraine. The UK government has pledged to deliver over 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 and has allocated £16 billion in military assistance since Russia's full-scale invasion began. London has consistently framed this aid as an integral part of Britain's own security, as Russia's aggression poses a threat not only to Ukraine but also to the UK and its allies.
