Bo Nix Gets Honest About Heated Practice Altercation With Broncos Teammate

During a recent NFL practice, heated tensions erupted between Denver Broncos quarterbacks Bo Nix and Nik Bonitto. According to multiple sources, the incident occurred when Bonitto's pocket collapsed under pressure, resulting in Nix being knocked to the ground on a sack. After regaining his footing, Nix threw the ball and subsequently clashed with Bonitto following an interception to Alex Singleton.

The altercation escalated further when Bonitto reportedly jumped onto right tackle Mike McGlinchey, prompting Nix to chase Bonitto and attempt to pull him off the pile by his leg. Broncos teammates intervened to separate the two players. In a subsequent interview, Nix expressed his enthusiasm for the physical nature of the practice, describing it as "football" and acknowledging that "sometimes in the dog days of summer, practice gets long, and the intensity runs high."

When asked if he had any regrets regarding the incident, Nix stated he did not. This altercation is just one of several recent scuffles that have taken place during practices. Previous incidents involved players from the Cincinnati Bengals, Oakland Raiders, and other teams. However, the Denver Post's Parker Gabriel deemed this particular scuffle as "the most heated" he had witnessed during Sean Payton's tenure as head coach.

Nix is set to make a return to the field after recovering from a severe ankle injury that forced him to miss Denver's AFC Divisional Round game against the Buffalo Bills. He recently underwent offseason ankle surgeries and has successfully rehabilitated his injury. Nix is on track to play in the Broncos' Week 1 regular-season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football, scheduled for September 14.
