AP Interview: Klaveness slams Infantino’s FIFA for firing top executive in ‘management by fear’

FIFA President Gianni Infantino's dismissal of chief operating officer Kevin Lamour over his criticisms of the FIFA president's controversial $20 billion private equity plan has been deemed unacceptable by Norway's Football Federation president Lise Klaveness, according to an interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday. Klaveness, who described Lamour as "the best football administrator I have ever met," called the firing "management by fear."

She urged other leaders at FIFA to resist potentially damaging orders, particularly targeting FIFA secretary general Mattias Grafström. Lamour, a long-time colleague of Infantino, was fired just 17 days after his statement to the AP criticizing Infantino's plan to sell future World Cup profits to investors.
