Anthropic prepares supervoting power for founders ahead of IPO, The Information reports

Anthropic, the maker of the popular AI chatbot Claude, is reportedly preparing to give its CEO Dario Amodei and co-founders extra voting power ahead of a potential IPO, according to The Information. This move, the first of its kind for the company, aims to insulate the founders from external shareholder pressure. Unlike other tech giants, Anthropic's co-founders currently hold relatively small ownership stakes.

To maintain control over its board of directors, the company plans to keep its existing trustees with a special class of stock. The details of the voting arrangements remain unclear, and the plans could still undergo changes. Anthropic has not yet commented on the matter, and the IPO, which could be the biggest in history, is expected to happen as early as late September.
