A man who went missing while hiking in a mountainous area in Gunma Prefecture on the 18th was found and rescued on the 26th, eight days later. According to the prefectural police, the man, 49, of Tokyo, was hiking in the Okutama Lake area of Kawaba Village. He was reported missing on the 18th when he failed to return home. The police and others searched the area and found the man on the 26th. The man said, "I survived on the food I brought with me." The man was apparently unharmed and was taken to a hospital.
