Recently, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will flexibly operate nighttime lighting for 470 street trees in five sections of the city center for three months from July 1 to September 30. 기존에는 24시간 조명을 켜뒀지만, 야간 조명 시간을 줄이고 빛의 색온도를 변경해 나무의 생육 환경을 개선하자는 취지입니다. Previously, the lights were on 24/7, but the plan is to reduce the nighttime lighting hours and change the color temperature of the light to improve the growth environment of the trees. 색온도는 빛의 색을 숫자로 나타낸 값으로, 숫자가 낮을수록 노란빛에 가깝고 높을수록 파란빛에 가깝습니다. Color temperature is a value that represents the color of light as a number; the lower the number, the closer to yellow light, and the higher the number, the closer to blue light. 서울시는 가로수 5개 구간을 대상으로 7월부터 9월까지 야간 조명 시간을 24시간에서 22시간으로 2시간 줄이고, 색온도는 2700K에서 2200K로 낮춘다는 계획입니다. The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to reduce the nighttime lighting hours for five sections of street trees from 24 hours to 22 hours, a reduction of two hours, from July to September, and lower the color temperature from 2,700K to 2,200K. 색온도가 2700K일 때는 나무의 수액이 많이 흘러나오고, 2200K로 낮추면 수액이 적게 흘러나오는 등 나무의 생육에 긍정적이라는 연구 결과도 있습니다. There are also research results that show a positive effect on tree growth, such as a decrease in sap flow when the color temperature is lowered from 2,700K, at which a large amount of sap flows out of the tree, to 2,200K. 서울시는 이번 시범 운영을 통해 야간 조명 운영 개선 효과를 분석하고, 확대 적용 여부를 검토할 예정입니다. Through this pilot operation, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will analyze the effectiveness of improving nighttime lighting operations and consider whether to expand the program.
