2027 Peace Accord: APC rejects violence, hate speech, misinformation -Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has warned political parties, candidates and signatories to the upcoming 2027 peace accord against using ethnic, religious and other divisive elements to gain political power. Speaking during the signing ceremony, Tinubu noted that while political disagreements are expected in a democracy, campaign activities must not weaken national unity or harm social stability.

He called on stakeholders to focus on constructive debate, policies and programmes that foster national development and improve citizens' wellbeing. Tinubu reiterated his party's opposition to electoral violence, hate speech, misinformation, and digital manipulation, especially through social media and AI platforms. The All Progressives Congress (APC) committed to peaceful, transparent elections that strengthen political stability, social harmony, and economic progress.

Tinubu praised the National Peace Committee, chaired by former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar, for their efforts in organising peace pacts since 2014.
