Worker dies at Tunnel-2 of Veligonda Project

Montilal, a worker from Uttar Pradesh, lost his life in a tragic accident at Tunnel-2 of the Veligonda Project in Markapuram district. The incident occurred when he was struck by a hydraulic machine within the tunnel. Upon hearing of the worker's death, Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu spoke with the project's Chief Engineer and representatives from the construction contractor Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. The Minister expressed his shock and directed officials to provide support to Montilal's family.

He regretted the occurrence of such an incident during the project's final stages and emphasized the need for top priority to be given to worker safety during tunnel construction activities. However, project officials did not respond to the reporter's inquiries.
