Woman found stabbed to death at parking area, homicide investigation underway
A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found stabbed to death at a parking area outside of Washington, D.C., authorities said.
A 19-year-old man, Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his 42-year-old coworker, Carmen Puch, in Virginia, according to Fairfax County Police. The incident occurred Monday near Difficult Run Park, where they had intentionally met. Puch, a loving mother of a 3-year-old daughter, was found stabbed repeatedly and tried to set on fire, though the gasoline was unsuccessful.
Cedillos-Campos allegedly came to the U.S. illegally from El Salvador, and was arrested in April 2024 but released into the U.S. Police are still investigating the motive behind the crime.
