WATCH: CCTV Shows MSRTC Employee Crushed Under Bus Wheel In Maharashtra’s Kolhapur

On Saturday morning, a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) employee named Pandurang Annappa Chavan, a 55-year-old driver, tragically died after being crushed under a bus wheel at the corporation's workshop near the Central Bus Stand in Kolhapur. Chavan had been assigned workshop duties due to health concerns. The incident happened around 11 am, with the fatal event occurring when the bus was being moved for repairs.

As the bus passed over a ramp, Chavan, who had finished his work nearby, was caught under the front wheel of the vehicle. Colleagues rushed to the scene and raised an alarm, causing the driver, Sikandar Maner, to halt the bus. However, it was too late; Chavan had already succumbed to his injuries. The police, who were alerted about the accident, inspected the location and opened an investigation case against the bus driver.

CCTV cameras captured the unfortunate event, and investigators are reviewing the footage for any clues. Chavan's colleagues expressed their shock, stating that the bus should have been warned before its movement, as the incident could have been prevented. They are also demanding financial support for Chavan's family.
