Vizag Collector checks grievance resolution with complainants
On Monday, District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore emphasized the importance of resolving grievances through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) with quality and permanence. During a review of the system at the Collectorate, the Collector personally contacted several complainants via phone to confirm if their grievances had been satisfactorily addressed.
He instructed officials from the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation to promptly address a woman's complaint regarding a house site issue. Kishore urged officials to pinpoint the underlying causes of complaints, conduct pre-audit and post-audit processes appropriately, and prevent grievances from being reopened. He also instructed departments to upload petitions directly received at their offices onto the PGRS portal to enhance transparency and accountability.
The Collector called for particular focus on grievances pertaining to TIDCO housing, medical services, and registration services. A total of 291 petitions were submitted, comprising 64 concerning GVMC, 22 pertaining to Revenue, and 20 associated with the Police Department.
