In the pursuit of perfection, one man, "Jay Lucarelli Sports," devoted the last two weeks of his life to a unique goal: pitching a perfect game with Roy Oswalt in MLB MVP Baseball 2005. Streaming on TikTok, he began his quest on August 6, dedicating hours-upon-hours of gameplay daily, enduring countless heartbreaks and missed opportunities.
After nearly eight hours of streaming every day, he made one final, epic push, refusing to end the stream until he achieved his perfect game. On attempt 1,993, his dream finally came true.
The stream's most notable aspect is its lack of excitement. This isn't a celebration of victory, but rather a sigh of relief that the marathon effort is complete. The video reveals that there were likely dozens of moments during those nearly 2,000 attempts where he wanted to quit, feeling it was impossible or frustrated with the CPU at the worst possible time. However, persistence is the key to success, and when the dust settled, he emerged victorious.
You can view Jay Lucarelli Sports' attempts across the last two weeks for more of this unique content. The Astros should consider inviting the Ohio native to a special game to commemorate this achievement.
