Ukraine strikes Russian attack drone hub and control systems in occupied Crimea

Ukrainian forces targeted a Russian facility near Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea on the night of August 17, the General Staff reported. The attack aimed at a storage, preparation, and launch site for attack drones, resulting in a fire at the scene. In another operation, Ukrainian forces struck a control ground station in Novofedorivka, located in the Yevpatoria district of Crimea, which was responsible for managing Orion drones.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces targeted a relay ground station utilized for controlling Geran and Gerbera attack drones in Olenivka, Crimea. They also hit a communications and power point supporting the drone relay on the Tendra Spit in Kherson Oblast. The complete damage assessment is still underway. The Ukrainian military stated that operations against key Russian military targets are ongoing.

Earlier on August 17, the Ukrainian military reported on a separate strike conducted the night before into August 16 against the Kombinat Kamensky industrial complex in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Russia's Rostov Oblast. The attack destroyed two workshops manufacturing explosives and gunpowder, while damaging four others.
