Two arrested over alleged disappearance of late Kasoa Odupong Ofaakor’s body

Two individuals have been apprehended by the Ghana Police Service's Homicide Unit in relation to the disputed disappearance of the remains of the late Odupong Ofaakor, the revered Chief of Kasoa. According to reports, the body reportedly vanished months after the chief's demise, prompting a probe by the Homicide Unit. The inquiry has resulted in the arrest of Daniel Awer and Chris Banahene, who are currently held in police custody.

Addressing journalists at a press conference, Nai Kwaben Atopi, the Boundary Chief of the Awutu Traditional Area, accused the Awutu Senya East Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Sabah Banini, of allegedly colluding with the suspects to remove the late chief's remains. Nai Atopi further revealed that the body has since been located, and that traditional rituals will now be held to lay the late overlord to rest.

Meanwhile, Nai Saani Seidu III, the Chief of Kasoa, has expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the Municipal Chief Executive, criticizing him for allegedly disrespecting Nananom since taking office.
