Today’s weather: Cold mornings, warmer afternoons across South Africa

South Africa is bracing for a mostly settled week ahead, with most areas enjoying fine weather according to the South African Weather Service. Monday is expected to be a mix of cool mornings and warmer afternoons across much of the nation, with no immediate warnings of any impact, fire danger or advisories issued. Some regions in the interior can expect freezing temperatures in the early hours, but temperatures are forecast to climb throughout the day.

The northern and central parts of the country are set to see mostly sunny and dry conditions. Upington, in particular, is anticipated to be among the warmest spots. Northern and central regions will be predominantly sunny and dry. Coastal regions, however, will have a more varied weather pattern. Cape Town is expected to be partly clouded with a chance of drizzle in the evening. Eastern Cape might have some cloud cover, while KwaZulu-Natal could begin with partly cloudy skies, followed by clearer conditions in Durban.

Even though the mornings will be chilly, most regions should find the afternoons pleasant and comfortable. The sun is forecast to be strong in several areas, particularly in Cape Town and Durban, where UV levels are expected to be very high. As such, sun protection is recommended for anyone spending time outdoors.
