Second time lucky? Jordan Hermann ready for Proteas redemption in Namibia

The South African cricketer Jordan Hermann is set to have his second chance in the Proteas white-ball tour to Namibia. The 24-year-old left-handed batsman has been praised by Proteas legend AB de Villiers after being spotted in Betway SA20 Season 1 three years ago. Hermann has continued to improve his game, becoming the only batter in the country to top 600 runs in consecutive first-class seasons.

However, he faced a setback when he strained a hamstring during the New Zealand tour earlier this year, leading to a disappointing T20I debut. Despite the injury, Proteas coach Shukri Conrad remains confident in Hermann's potential and believes he will make an impact in the upcoming T20I Tri-Series in Windhoek. Hermann has been performing well domestically and at SA20 level, topping the 'Test' run-scorers table for South Africa 'A' with 211 runs at an average of 105.50 during a recent tour to England.

He has also had success in English County Cricket, scoring a century in a T20 Blast match against Warwickshire and a century in a four-day match against Nottinghamshire. Conrad hopes that Hermann's recent form will bode well for the Proteas as they look to build their batting depth ahead of a busy international schedule.
