Sam Burns Reacts to Scottie Scheffler's Final Round Performance

Sam Burns started two shots behind world number one golfer Scottie Scheffler in the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship. However, Scheffler ultimately won the tournament by shooting 17-under, while Burns shot 3-over, finishing tied for third at 8-under. Burns knew from the start that catching Scheffler would be a difficult task, stating, "I think everyone knew that coming into the day.

I knew he was going to put a solid round together." Burns acknowledged that he would have needed a perfect round to have a shot at winning, adding, "I didn't come close to that." Despite the challenging outcome, Burns moved up two spots in the FedEx Cup standings following his T3 finish, now sitting in sixth place heading into the BMW Championship at Bellerive Golf Club.

Burns expressed positive momentum, saying, "I hit the ball really nicely with my irons. I putted it good." He concluded, "Overall, I feel really good going into the next two weeks."
