Polis Pahang nafi ada kartel dadah di Genting Highlands

Pemangku Ketua Polis Pahang, Azry Akmar Ayob, has denied claims of a major drug cartel operating in Genting Highlands and Bentong. The police chief stated that any incidents, whether in Genting Highlands or elsewhere, will be investigated if reported to them. He emphasized that no action would be taken without a report from the public implicating an illegal activity.

Azry made these remarks after the ceremony of transferring the chief position of the Pahang Narcotics and Community Safety Prevention Department (JPJKK) in Kuantan. During the ceremony, Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahar, who previously held the position of deputy JPJKK Bukit Aman, was appointed as the new chief of JPJKK Pahang, replacing Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali, who was recently demoted from Polaris Diraja Malaysia (PDRM).

Azry praised Sukarno's extensive knowledge, leadership, and experience gained over his 31-year career in the PDRM, and expressed confidence that he would continue the previous leadership's efforts and achievements. He also highlighted Sukarno's plans to implement new approaches and innovations to strengthen JPJKK's functions, ensuring the unit's aspirations and enhancing public confidence in the police force, particularly in the Pahang region.
