PM Anwar moves to amend Tabung Haji Act, vows stronger governance to safeguard Muslim trust

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced plans to amend the Tabung Haji Act 1995 to ensure the trust of Muslims is upheld, as part of the Madani Government's efforts to strengthen governance and address institutional weaknesses. The government's commitment to strengthening governance and cleaning up institutions will be demonstrated through the amendment, according to Anwar, who also posted this message on Facebook.

He further emphasized that the Madani Government would ensure economic growth benefits all Malaysians, regardless of their political or state background. Anwar, who is also the President of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), stated that the party chose a principled path, devoid of compromising ideals or betraying reform objectives, to do what was right.

He stressed that PKR remains a platform for the struggle of all Malaysians, transcending race, religion, and region, with justice reflected through its policies and actions. Anwar urged his party members to uphold these values, close ranks, streamline efforts, and continue moving forward for the people and the nation.
