Afrobeats musician Davido, who goes by the name David Adeleke, has criticized James Faleke, a representative for the Ikeja Federal Constituency. In a post on his verified X account, Davido urged Faleke to pursue a regular job, emphasizing that politics is not a profession. This comes after the singer intervened in the recent Osun State gubernatorial election, alleging that Faleke attempted to overturn the outcome.
However, Faleke denied these claims, stating he was in Osun to back his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Bola Oyebamiji. He further stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, cannot be swayed. Faleke added that he has never manipulated or rigged elections before, and he has no intention of doing so in the future. Davido responded to Faleke's comments by stating, "politics is not a career. Get a job."
