Norway monarch hospitalised, Crown Prince becomes Regent

Norway's King Harald V has been admitted to the National Hospital after a medical examination, with Crown Prince Haakon stepping in as Regent for a two-week period, according to the Royal House. The 89-year-old monarch was treated with cortisone for hemolytic anemia, which led to fluid accumulation in his body requiring hospital treatment.

The King is currently on sick leave, with Haakon taking on his duties during this time. This is the second hospitalization for Harald this month; he visited the hospital 10 days ago for a planned checkup, driven himself in his car.
