Nak tawan Selangor? PAS dicabar bentang belanjawan alternatif

PAS is being challenged to demonstrate its capability to govern Selangor by presenting an alternative budget and plans, not just by talking about efforts to oust Pakatan Harapan (PH). Mohammad Shahrul Adnan, Deputy Youth Chief of PKR Selangor, stated that PAS must explain its stance to the people if it genuinely wants to take over the administration of the state.

Sanusi Nor, Chairman of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Election Headquarters, making Selangor the starting point for challenging PH during the 16th General Election, needs to be followed by a clear plan for administration. "Being a government involves not only having a majority of votes or completing campaign stunts, but also the ability to manage state resources, development, investment, housing, transportation, infrastructure, job opportunities, and public welfare," he told FMT.

Last Saturday, during a meeting with PAS female delegates in Selangor, Sanusi said the party wanted to make Selangor the starting point to challenge PH and subsequently the federal government in the 16th General Election. Shahrul challenged PAS to provide an alternative to the state government framework if it is unwilling to create an alternative budget.

"If PAS is unwilling to make an alternative budget, there's no need for them to be eager to govern Selangor," he said. Shahrul also challenged PAS to compare its state administration record with Selangor's if Sanusi wants to claim a superior performance. He said this step would allow the people to make judgments based on facts and achievements, not just political accusations.

Shahrul said Selangor is currently implementing the Selangor Second Design (RS-2) 2026-2030, which focuses on economic development, increasing public income, and attracting investment. "People of Selangor want to know what PAS can do better, not just hear who PAS wants to challenge," he said. Shahrul said PAS also needs to explain how it will increase state results, attract high-value investment, provide high-paying jobs, and address issues of housing, flooding, transportation, and living expenses.

According to him, PKR Selangor's youth are not intimidated by PAS's and PN's aspirations, but want the political competition in the state to be determined based on facts, performance, and solutions to people's problems. "There is no place for ethnic politics in Selangor. We can compete on facts, economy, and administration record.

If PAS wants to challenge Selangor, challenge with ideas, facts, and performance. Don't try to challenge Selangor with divisive sentiments," he said.
