Nabin's BJP team blends fresh faces with heavyweights

New Delhi: The recently unveiled BJP team has seen a mix of new faces and returning heavyweights in a surprising lineup. Prominent among the changes is the entry of seasoned Union minister Piyush Goyal, who is now set to take on the role of BJP treasurer. This move comes as Goyal relinquishes his cabinet duties, adhering to the party's one man, one post rule.

Similarly, the ouster of Amit Malviya and Tejasvi Surya marks a significant shift in the team's composition. Deepak Mhaske, who previously collaborated with Nabin as Chhattisgarh's in-charge, is now set to take over as the new social media head. Meanwhile, Tejasvi Surya, the BJP Yuva Morcha chief since 2020, has been replaced by Hemang Joshi, an MP from Vadodara. Joshi's primary task will be to promote the party's narrative among the youth.

Ram Madhav, who had taken a six-year hiatus from the national team, has returned, strengthening the BJP's diplomatic capabilities. Smriti Irani, the sole woman general secretary in the new lineup, returns to the forefront before the upcoming UP polls, a move that could yield crucial benefits for the party in the state.

Adding to the team's strength is Sandeep Pathak, a former AAP leader who recently joined BJP along with six other MPs from the party. As a national secretary, Pathak is expected to play a pivotal role in the party's organizational efforts in the states gearing up for elections.
