Matlala on former Madlanga witness: ‘I actually hate him. He caused a lot of problems for me’
Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala refused to answer several questions at the Madlanga commission to avoid incriminating himself.
Former witness Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala expressed frustration with the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry by revealing his dislike for Brown Mogotsi. Matlala explained that Mogotsi initially contacted him after a police raid on his home, offering to help him file a case against the officers involved. Matlala, though, only disclosed the monetary transaction between himself and Mogotsi, stating that he gave Mogotsi R20,000 and later R150,000 for an ANC celebration.
When questioned about his relationship with Mogotsi, Matlala bluntly stated, "I actually hate him. He caused a lot of problems for me. [It ended] after my arrest." The commission chair acknowledged Matlala's concerns regarding his limited responses, but mentioned that logistical issues could be addressed later.
