Maharashtra Businessman Dies After Seeking Blessings In Kashi, Wife & Son Found Dead In Hotel Room Later; Heartbreaking Video Allegedly Shows Last Rites

Varanasi: A businessman from Maharashtra, Vishal Mukherjee, passed away while on a family trip to the city. His wife and son were subsequently found dead in their hotel room, sparking a tragic investigation by the local police. The family had arrived in Varanasi on August 7 for a brief four-day stay. Mr. Mukherjee, aged 56, reportedly fell gravely ill on August 9 and was rushed to the BHU Trauma Centre, where he was later declared dead.

His family conducted his final rites at Harishchandra Ghat the next day. Following this, his wife and son returned to the hotel. When they did not respond to knocks on the door of their room for an extended period, the hotel manager contacted the police. Upon arrival, officers discovered the couple and their son deceased inside the room, with a packet of poison recovered from the premises.

Police are currently examining the circumstances leading to their deaths, with initial reports suggesting the possibility of suicide. The post-mortem examination is underway to confirm the exact cause of death.
