Maguire hopes ‘big asset’ Rashford stays at Manchester United

Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United is uncertain, according to teammate Harry Maguire. The 28-year-old England forward has not featured for United since falling out of favor with former manager Ruben Amorim in December 2024. Since then, Rashford has spent the last 18 months on loan with Aston Villa and Barcelona.

Despite this, United's new manager Michael Carrick recently praised Rashford, describing him as "our player." Following an extended break following the World Cup, Rashford returned to the United squad last week and made an impact in a pre-season match, coming off the bench and posing a significant threat to the opposing team's defense.

Maguire, speaking after the 4-2 loss to AC Milan, expressed hope that Rashford would remain with Manchester United. He emphasized that Rashford's presence would undoubtedly improve the team's performance, citing his ability to threaten the backline and score goals. Maguire highlighted his long-standing relationship with Rashford, stating that playing alongside him in training would benefit both players and the team.

Manchester United, who finished third in the previous season, are set to kick off their Premier League campaign against promoted Hull City on August 22.
