Long-awaited Switch 2 version of Diablo 4 reportedly releases days after BlizzCon, and includes both game expansions

The long-awaited Switch 2 version of Diablo 4 is reportedly set to release on September 15th, just two days after Blizzard's annual BlizzCon event. This version will include both expansions of the game, Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred, all packaged together as the Age of Hatred Collection. The leak, provided by Dealabs leaker billbil-kun, was first reported by Resetera.

The Switch 2 release comes nearly five years after Diablo 4's June 2023 launch on other platforms. Diablo 3's previous Switch port was unveiled at Gamescom, a natural fit for the console allowing players to engage in monster battles on the go. Diablo 4's release on Switch 2 is a long-awaited development, with the game first being introduced in June 2023 and then on Switch 2 in June of last year.

The game's expansions, released in April this year, have been expected to be included in the Switch 2 version. Blizzard follows a yearly expansion update cycle for Diablo 4, but the updates have not always been exact and timely. The company is currently undergoing significant restructuring, with a large portion of its workforce facing layoffs, but Blizzard remains the top-performing Xbox studio, largely due to the success of Diablo 4.
