LASU 2026 best graduating student gets N10m cash prize

Lagos State University (LASU) celebrated its 29th and 30th combined convocation on Monday, recognizing the academic prowess of its graduating students. Among the distinguished graduates, Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, an Aerospace Engineering graduate, emerged as the overall best performing student for the 2025/2026 academic session, earning a stellar CGPA of 4.97 out of a possible 5.00.

This exemplary performance earned him the prestigious N10 million cash prize from the Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme. Oluolamide, who graduated with First-Class Honours, expressed gratitude to God for his achievements during a post-graduation press conference. The Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme honors academic excellence and innovation among students, presenting the N10 million prize to Oluolamide in acknowledgement of his outstanding academic performance.

LASU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, announced that over 20,000 students would graduate across the two academic sessions, with 494 students receiving First-Class Honours. Oluolamide's success was not only academic but also reflected in his extracurricular activities, including research and publication of scholarly articles.
