Kalyan Blood Donation Camp Collects Over 300 Units As Youth And Women Turn Up In Large Numbers At Nandivali Event

Kalyan: A major blood donation camp in Nandivali, organised by Shivsahyadri Pratishthan Maharashtra's Kalyan unit, saw a tremendous turnout, particularly among young people and women. The event, which took place at Holy Cross School, collected over 300 units of blood, surpassing expectations. The primary goal of the initiative was to promote voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about the critical need for a sufficient blood supply to cater to emergency and critical healthcare needs.

The camp was inaugurated by Shiv Sena leader Nilesh Shinde, who, along with social workers and representatives from various organisations, underscored the significance of the event. Among the notable attendees were Subhash Dhone, Dnyaneshwar Tare, Chetan Mhatre, Sampat Biramane, Vandana More, Stri Mukti Sanstha President Varsha Kalke, and representatives of a social organisation from Satara.

The organisers were particularly impressed by the high participation of women, reflecting a growing awareness and active involvement of females in social and humanitarian causes. The enthusiastic response from local residents further contributed to the success of the camp. The event's smooth execution was credited to the diligent efforts of office-bearers and volunteers from Shivsahyadri Pratishthan, with the medical team led by Ravi Nemse ensuring that all safety protocols were followed.

Organisers stressed that a single unit of donated blood can potentially save multiple lives, urging citizens to participate in future blood donation drives.
