JD(S) leader grabs traffic cop by collar and ‘kicks’ him for stopping car in Bengaluru

In Bengaluru, Janata Dal (Secular) Karnataka leader Manjunath, also known as Gottigere Manja, has been arrested for assaulting a traffic police constable. The incident took place in Hulimavu, where Badagowdar signaled Manjunath's car to stop. Enraged, Manjunath grabbed the constable by his collar and kicked him. The video of the assault quickly spread on social media, leading to public outrage. Arrested from a hotel, Manjunath faced a court on Sunday night.

Separately, in another road rage incident on August 12, KR Puram police registered a case against law student Hemanth Reddy and associates for allegedly verbally abusing and physically confronting traffic police personnel. A viral video showed Sub Inspector Nayana D allegedly slapping Reddy. The incident led to charges of assault or criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman, causing hurt, and obstructing traffic. The police issued notices to the accused, requiring them to attend a questioning.
