Jann Arden shares pictures of wedding to Icelandic author Thordis Elva

Canadian musician and author Jann Arden announced her marriage to Icelandic author and activist Thordis Elva on Monday. The Calgary-born singer shared the news on Instagram, posting a picture of the couple embracing on a country road, dressed in wedding attire. She captioned the image "Wife and wife." Later that day, Arden shared another photo of her and her new wife at the altar, holding hands and smiling, with the words "what a day!!!!" written beside it.

Several high-profile figures, including Chelsea Handler and Jillian Harris, congratulated the newlyweds on their social media. Arden, a Juno Award-winning artist with a star on Canada's Walk of Fame, is also a recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Order of Canada. The couple had been Instagram official for over a year before getting engaged over New Year's Eve.

They have been sharing their wedding plans on Arden's podcast recently. Arden has been vocal about her opposition to Alberta separatism, criticizing the province's movement as an embarrassment to the country in a TikTok post last May. She firmly stated that Alberta should remain part of Canada and that they need to address their issues together.
