India’s unemployment rate falls to four-month low of 5.1% in July, rural jobs drive gains
India’s unemployment rate fell to a four-month low of 5.1% in July from 5.5% in June, with rural unemployment declining to 4.5%, official PLFS data showed. Women and youth also recorded improvements. The labour force participation rate rose to 55.4%, while the worker population ratio climbed to 52.5%.
