IGNOU extends ODL July 2026 registration deadline till August 31; check steps to apply

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has adjusted the deadline for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes admissions from July 2026, extending it to August 31. Applicants can now complete their registration process online through the official university website. The application procedure entails registering at the admission portal ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in, providing contact information, and generating a password.

Prospective students must verify the eligibility criteria for their chosen course before applying. It is crucial for applicants to note the new deadline, as late submissions are unlikely to be accepted. Here are the steps to apply for IGNOU July 2026 admissions:

1. Visit the official admission website: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

2. Register online by entering necessary details like course preference, username, and password.

3. Submit the registration form to receive the username via SMS and email.

4. Fill out personal and academic information in the application form.

5. Upload required documents, such as a photograph, signature, category certificate, and photo ID, in the specified format.

6. Pay the admission fees online using the authorized payment methods.

7. Review all details using the preview option before submission.

8. Submit the application and obtain a printout for future reference.

A noteworthy point is that the registration fee is non-refundable in any case. However, in the event of a candidate applying for a fee exemption cancellation, the university will only refund the development fee.
