Guenther Steiner Reveals Haas Rejected His Plans Before His F1 Departure

Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner revealed that the TGR Haas F1 team rejected his plans before his departure in 2023. On The High Performance Podcast on August 17, Steiner stated, "At Haas, having ideas wasn’t welcome. I had a plan, but they didn’t want to do it." This strong statement, shared on X, highlighted the difference in ambition and approach between Steiner and Gene Haas, Haas’s team owner.

Steiner's ideas included expanding the Banbury facility, investing in new machinery and software, and altering the operating model. Haas, on the other hand, preferred incremental improvements within their existing framework. Despite his criticisms, Haas's results since Steiner's exit show that his proposals may have been unrealistic given the team's circumstances.
