Ghandhara Industries To Launch Japenese UD Trucks In Pakistan

Ghandhara Industries Limited is set to introduce Japanese truck brand UD Trucks to the Pakistani market. This development was announced to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on August 17, where the company disclosed its formal partnership agreement with UD Trucks Corporation. Ghandhara will become the exclusive importer and distributor of the trucks in Pakistan, with commercial distribution set to commence in the first quarter of 2027.

The Ghandhara Group is already established in the CBU truck market, having sold 56 units of Dongfeng and Renault trucks in the fiscal year 2025. This new partnership with UD Trucks will broaden Ghandhara's product offerings and establish a presence in another segment of the global truck market. UD Trucks, a part of the larger Volvo Group, is a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks, operating in 59 countries globally.

In FY24, UD Trucks sold 21,300 units worldwide. The partnership will allow Ghandhara to expand its product portfolio and capitalize on the growing demand for heavy trucks in Pakistan, which is closely linked to transportation, logistics, construction, and overall economic activity. This move represents a significant step for the company's future growth prospects in the commercial vehicle market.
