Dolphins Announce Offensive Lineman Will Miss the 2026 Season

On August 16, the Miami Dolphins shared disappointing news regarding an offensive lineman named Jamaree Salyer, who will be absent for the whole 2026 season. The team placed Salyer on injured reserve, confirming his absence from the upcoming games. Despite coming into the league as a sixth-round pick in 2022 with modest expectations, Salyer had made significant strides in his career.

He started 14 games as a rookie for the Los Angeles Chargers, filling in for the injured All-Pro player Rashawn Slater. In the following season, Salyer proved his worth by securing a starting role, playing all 17 games across multiple positions on the offensive line. Over the next two years, he took on a backup role but still showcased his versatility by starting 9 games as an inside or outside guard.

For the Dolphins, Salyer was expected to provide support as the primary backup guard in case of injuries to Kadyn Proctor or Jonah Savaiinaea, or even as a substitute tackle in an emergency scenario. However, barring any trades, Miami will now rely on Caedan Wallace (a third-round pick of the Patriots), Charlie Heck, and rookie D.J. Campbell to fill the immediate backup needs on the offensive line for the upcoming season.
