Dodgers Place All-Star Starting Pitcher on IL

The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed their All-Star starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski on the 15-day injured list due to left forearm inflammation, the team announced on Sunday. In response, they recalled right-hander Kyle Hurt from Triple-A. The Dodgers are currently in the middle of a series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers at Dodger Stadium on Sunday. The team will experience a rapid turnaround, as they are set to begin a road series against the Colorado Rockies on Monday.

The Dodgers are also anticipating the return of starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow by the end of August. Glasnow will first complete a rehab start in Triple-A on Wednesday, following which he is expected to rejoin the Dodgers for their upcoming games in Atlanta and Detroit. In the previous season, Wrobleski played primarily in the Dodgers' bullpen. However, he secured a spot in the team's rotation during spring training and has since delivered his strongest season yet, earning his first All-Star selection.

Wrobleski's career-best 3.56 ERA ranks 17th in the National League and second in the Dodgers' rotation, trailing only Yoshinobu Yamamoto's 2.60 ERA. The 26-year-old reached the 100-strikeout milestone for the first time in his career during a recent start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday. If Wrobleski recovers in time, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts hinted that he might employ him out of the bullpen during the postseason, similar to his role during the team's World Series championship run last season.
