Davido reveals why he stayed out of politics despite influential family

Afrobeats musician Davido has revealed his reasoning for avoiding politics, despite belonging to one of Nigeria's most influential families. Born David Adeleke, Davido comes from the prominent Adeleke family, which has significant ties to both business and Nigerian politics. His uncles, Ademola and Isiaka Adeleke, both held governorship positions.

After the passing of his eldest uncle, Isiaka, who was expected to return as Osun State governor, Davido became a candidate for the role. However, his father believed he was too young at the time. Consequently, Davido's uncle Ademola became more involved in the family's political affairs, eventually becoming Governor of Osun State.

Davido, however, chose a different path, building his career in music and becoming one of Africa's most successful Afrobeats artists. His global influence has led him to engage in social and national issues, but his primary focus remains on his music career.
