Be a hater all you want, AI's here to stay

AI is here to stay and will fundamentally change our lives and work, despite the negative impact it currently has. Research shows AI could eliminate 10.4 million US jobs by 2030, affecting 6.1 percent of all US jobs. Tech giants such as Amazon, Oracle, Microsoft, and Meta are cutting jobs as they adopt AI solutions. However, as AI becomes more cost-effective and efficient, it will eventually replace many white-collar jobs.

Currently, a few major companies control AI, but open source alternatives like OpenWALDO may emerge to offer more affordable options. A major concern is the difficulty in distinguishing AI-generated content from human-created material, leading to potential fraud, deepfakes, and political manipulation. Despite these challenges, AI's benefits, such as ease of use and low prices, will eventually outweigh the resistance, just like previous technology revolutions.
