Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP for 2028, expressed confidence that Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, the newly elected Greater Accra Regional Chairman, will aid the party in gaining more parliamentary seats in the region. Dr Bawumia commended Dr Okoe Boye for his humility and capability, stating that his leadership would be crucial for the NPP's preparations for the 2028 general elections.
This statement came during a meeting on Sunday, August 16, where Dr Okoe Boye and other newly elected Greater Accra Regional executives paid a courtesy visit to Dr Bawumia's office. Dr Bawumia emphasized that the NPP's regional elections were part of a larger reorganization process aimed at positioning the party for success in the upcoming national elections, which are scheduled for October 3.
He added that the completion of the reorganization would provide the NPP with the necessary organizational strength to mount an effective campaign in 2028. Dr Bawumia urged the new executives to remain focused on the task at hand and work collectively to strengthen the party's structures across the Greater Accra Region.
