Ahafo Minister cuts sod for 24-hour market project in Tano North

Ahafo Regional Minister, Mrs Charity Gardiner, recently marked the start of a 24-hour market development at Duayaw Nkwanta in the Tano North Municipality. Addressing the ceremony, Mrs Gardiner highlighted that the project would generate employment, stimulate economic activities, and elevate the community's living standards. She expressed gratitude to the Duayaw-Nkwanta Traditional Council for granting land rights and offering support for the venture.

Mr Pius Sampson Opoku, the Tano North Municipal Chief Executive, indicated that the market project is among several development initiatives undertaken by the government in the municipality. He praised the government's establishment of a Fire Service Training School at Duayaw-Nkwanta, which has opened avenues for youth employment in the formal sector.

Mr Samuel Essuman, the Municipal Development Planning Officer, elaborated on the market project's features, including a creche, clinic, restaurant, fire and police post, banking hall, and modern washrooms. Mr Emmanuel Addison Essuman, the Project Manager from Nielz Construction Limited, the contractor overseeing the project, assured that, with community cooperation, the project would be finished within 18 months.
