10-man Lens beat PSG 1-0 to win French Champions’ trophy

Lens secured a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the French Champions' Trophy, denying the European champions a second trophy in five days. Florian Thauvin scored the only goal in the 32nd minute, sending Lens to their first French Champions' Trophy win and adding to their French Cup title won in May. PSG, who recently defeated Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup, struggled to find their rhythm at Lens' Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

The home team was reduced to ten men in the first half when Kyllian Antonio was sent off for a studs-up tackle on Maghnes Akliouche. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Lens remained competitive and dominated possession throughout the match. However, they were unable to convert their chances into a second goal. Lens' new coach, Dino Toppmoeller, expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, stating they deserved more.

PSG, led by coach Luis Enrique, will now focus on their Ligue 1 title defense, facing Rennes at home in their opening match. The team will be without Nuno Mendes, who was also sent off late in the game.
