YSRCP demands immediate reinstatement of suspended teachers

On August 16, 2026, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Employees’ Wing State president, N. Chandrasekhar Reddy, called for the immediate rescinding of suspension orders issued to four teachers. These educators had met with Union government representatives to request exemption from the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for in-service teachers.

At a press conference, Mr. Reddy harshly criticized the government's actions and urged the State government to address the matter with the Centre. He also demanded that the legislature pass a resolution seeking exemption from TET for serving teachers and present it to the Union government for appropriate action. "Attending a meeting with a Union Minister to discuss teachers' concerns is not a crime.

Seeking exemption from TET is not an offense," he questioned. Mr. Reddy further stated that the suspended teachers were representatives of employee associations who had approached the Centre in their official capacity to seek solutions for issues affecting their constituents. In his view, removing them from their positions without allowing them to explain their actions was unjustified.
