What are you working on? #01

What are you working on? It’s a question I often hear in my daily life, and sometimes, when I hear it, my brain struggles to put into words the multitude of thoughts that have crossed my mind in the past 24 hours. So, I thought I’d try something different. Instead of keeping my musings to myself, I want to put them down on paper.

This will be a series where I share what I’m working on, covering a wide range of topics like software engineering, product development, work, people, faith, relationships, rest, and whatever else is occupying my mind at the moment.

Recently, I’ve started working on backend code again. Years ago, I built a frontend commerce store, using a backend-as-a-service to handle the backend side of things. Now, I’m diving back into that same system and writing the backend myself using NestJS. This is a learning curve for me, as I’m getting acquainted with many new concepts. At times, it’s tiring and frustrating, but the satisfaction of finally understanding the reasoning behind something is incredibly rewarding.

On top of that, I’m currently launching a mobile application at my workplace, studying system design, and exploring ways to optimize my engineers. I’ve also been imagining the dream job where I can build products that serve millions and collaborate with brilliant minds. Additionally, I’ve discovered the productivity boost of using large monitors and am learning how to balance rest with tackling open loops in my mind.

I’m also working on establishing reading habits, determining priorities, and figuring out what to drop. I’m also trying to build healthier mindsets about life in general.

Sometimes, I think the closest point of execution might be as simple as opening a blank page and starting to write. So, I’ve decided to start this series as my first step.
