Virginia State University shooting: Other shooters sought

Authorities are searching for more individuals who fired weapons during a shooting at Virginia State University, which left five people injured, according to police statements released on Sunday. The 19-year-old suspect, Camron Harris, remains in custody and faces multiple charges for the incident. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which occurred on Saturday at around 1:30 a.m., prompting a campus lockdown.

Lt. James Lamb of the Chesterfield County Police Department's Major Crimes Unit stated that they are attempting to determine the motivations behind the shooting and if the other shooters acted in self-defense or as aggressors. However, the number of additional shooters involved is unknown at this time. The shooting happened near the university's Quad Annexes, where campus police and Chesterfield County officers discovered five individuals with gunshot wounds outside campus dormitories.

Most of the victims were aged between 17 and 23, with only one of them being a student at the university. Harris was not a student, and the university will resume classes on Monday.
