Ukrainian forces target Moscow Oblast, damaging Wildberries warehouse in major attack

Ukrainian forces struck a Wildberries warehouse in Koledino, a village near Moscow, as part of a major attack on Russia's Moscow Oblast on August 16, according to monitoring channels. The fire broke out in the warehouse, and an undisclosed number of other Russian cities, including Domodedovo and Chekhov, experienced the effects of Ukrainian strikes.

Authorities have yet to release statements on the attacks, and the details remain unverified. Ukraine has consistently targeted military infrastructure deep within Russia and the occupied territories, aiming to weaken Moscow's capacity to continue its war efforts. Ukrainian forces struck Russia's Savasleyka military airbase and a crucial Roscosmos facility in Samara Oblast using domestically produced Flamingo missiles, as confirmed by President Volodymyr Zelensky on August 15.

Additionally, Ukraine targeted one of Russia's largest ports on the Baltic Sea on August 14, causing damage and a fire. In Voronezh Oblast, a Wildberries logistics hub in Novaya Usman was also set ablaze following a series of explosions during the Ukrainian attack, which was later confirmed by Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces.

Wildberries provides a variety of military equipment on its website, including drone components and body armor, and its banking arm was sanctioned by the EU in July for its financial contribution to Russia's state budget. Wildberries plays a significant role in the Russian consumer economy.
