Ukrainian commander risks his life to rescue wounded soldiers from enemy drone

Vladyslav Polskyi, an assault company commander, bravely rescued two seriously wounded soldiers from Russian fire on August 16. The two soldiers from the 475th Separate Assault Regiment were returning from a mission when they were targeted by Russian Molniya drones. Both were severely injured and unable to move independently. Initially, an unmanned ground vehicle was dispatched to evacuate them, but it too fell victim to an enemy drone.

The two soldiers, both suffering from open leg fractures, were left vulnerable and exposed in the open. Without waiting for orders and foregoing body armor, Polskyi decided to take matters into his own hands. Daringly, he approached the damaged unmanned ground vehicle, retrieved the wounded soldiers, and led them to safety. The commander of the 475th Separate Assault Regiment, known as Flint, emphasized that the soldiers would have met their demise within minutes of another Russian drone strike had it not been for Polskyi's timely intervention.
