Tyla's heartfelt acceptance speech at the SAMA32 highlights African unity

Global sensation Tyla captured the hearts of the audience at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32) Homecoming Edition by winning the AfriPure International Achievement Award for the second time. It was her first award at the SAMA stage. At 24 years old, she delivered an exceptional acceptance speech that left a lasting impression.

The event took place at Sun City, where Bonang Matheba and Grant Hughes, co-founder of AfriPure, presented the award. In her heartfelt speech, Tyla expressed her gratitude, acknowledging the significance of the Samas and her career milestone. She shared a powerful message about African unity. Reflecting on her dreams as a young girl, Tyla mentioned attending the Samas Awards as one of them.

"There’s never been a Tyla before me, and I don’t have a roadmap. I don’t have someone to call and ask how they did things, and which steps to make, so as I stumbled through my career and my life now growing up as a woman and an artist in front of the world, I just thank South Africa for being there for me and for supporting me and just for everything that inspires me."

Tyla also thanked Bacardi, Pretoria, as the moment she performed Bacardi on stage changed her life. Before ending her speech, Tyla invited fellow South African artists to join her on stage, including Makhadzi, Zee Nxumalo, Langa Mavuso, Babalwa M, Lordkez, Xdubby, Maglera Doe Boy, and Cassper Nyovest. Her gesture has been widely praised for promoting unity among the artists.
